As WSEMA continues to strengthen its partnerships with other associations, we are seeing this effort pay dividends. Washington State Association of Counties (WSAC) reached out and asked to highlight WSEMA as part of National County Recognition month in their Voices of Impact newsletter and American Public Works Association Washington Chapter (APWA-WA) requested WSEMA as a special featured speaker at the APWA Spring Conference this week at the Tacoma Convention Center with 400+ attendees.
Our 2nd Congressional Meet & Greet event was on Wednesday in Spokane and went really well. The next one will be May 9, 2025 at 11:30 AM with Representative Marilyn Strickland 10th District in Tacoma at the Pierce County EOC. WSEMA members who attended the first 2 events have been providing feedback and on the whole, think these events are adding value, so we encourage interested members to RSVP.
Additionally, we will be meeting with the Governor’s Director of External Relations and Deputy Policy Director in Olympia in the next couple of weeks to discuss the impacts of federal actions across the state at the local jurisdiction level.
