Meet Caleb Morris: WSEMA Scholarship Recipient and Future Emergency Manager Caleb Morris, a student at Pierce College Puyallup studying emergency management, is one of our 2024 recipients of the WSEMA scholarship. Born and raised in Lacey, Washington, Caleb’s journey into emergency management is one fueled by a passion for community, language access, and preparing for the unexpected! He’s inspired by the interconnected nature of emergency management—how it touches everything from cybersecurity to social planning. His dedication to helping others be prepared, starting with his family and extending to his community, is a driving force in his studies and future career. Caleb encourages others to pursue their passions and integrate them into their careers. For him, that means exploring the intersection of art, language, and emergency management. He’s found meaning in his coursework, such as geohazard studies, and believes that individual preparedness is the foundation of community resilience. Caleb’s story is a testament to the value of supporting future leaders in the field. Through donations from WSEMA members, this scholarship is made possible to help students like Caleb build their careers and strengthen our communities.
