Welcome to our newest WSEMA member Zach Heinemeyer, the Emergency Management and Safety Coordinator for Intercity Transit (IT) in Thurston County! Zach has been with IT for over 8 years and transitioned into his current role last year as the organization has continued to grow. Zach is a self-described typical PNW’er, loving to hike and camp (or even admittedly “glamp”) with his wife, daughter, and their dog Tank!
While looking for opportunities to learn more and integrate with the greater emergency management community throughout the state, Zach came across WSEMA’s LinkedIn and resonated with our goals to increase educational opportunities and provide scholarships for future emergency managers. As IT continues to grow, leaders in that organization are recognizing the importance of staff dedicated to helping other employees be prepared and ensure they are ready to respond in an emergency and maintain vital public services for the community. Zach looks forward to opportunities to connect and deepen his understanding of the profession while finding ways for transit to be more involved not only in the immediate community but also with partners around the state!
